(3 hours) 3pm-6pm Central
As teachers supporting diverse students in their pursuit of futures in STEM fields, it is our responsibility to acknowledge more than the surface level of our students’ cultures and create an environment where all ways of learning are welcomed.
In this 3-hour training, we will answer the following questions:
-What is culture?
-How does culture influence the way we communicate?
-What is my own preferred communication pattern and how can that lead to bias in my practice?
-How do storylines provide the structure to allow all students across cultures to succeed in learning using their cultural strengths?
